Gethin's Identity Crisis?

Gethin's new PR agency is doing a great job of keeping Twitter-land informed of what Mr Jones is up to.....obviously why they were engaged!

Today, we were pointed to a short article in the Daily Mail. Just goes to prove, a) Gethin is very polite and b) he really does have a funny name ;-)

Wholesome Welsh TV presenter Gethin Jones, selected to play in a charity football match for a rest of the world XI against England, has been getting in shape in Argentina. On a visit to the River Plate stadium in Buenos Aires, he was introduced to the nation’s iconic player, and now manager, Diego Maradona, who offered an autograph. Alas, the great man misheard Gethin’s name, and so signed a shirt for ‘Chethin’. Says Jones, who dates songbird Katherine Jenkins: ‘He was very animated. I didn’t have the heart to ask him to change it.’ "

Wholesome? Well, yes, but anyone who has met him knows there's a very naughty glint in those brown eyes!

The wrong shaped ball

A little Tweeting Bird has informed us that Gethin will once again take to the football field for Soccer Aid.

The match this time will take place at Old Trafford in Manchester on Sunday 6th June. It will be shown from 6pm on ITV1.

Back in Blighty

Gethin is back in the UK after a brief break on the Sinai Peninsula. We look forward to seeing the tan on the National Lottery Draw on Saturday!!

71 Degrees North

A press release about the new ITV1 and ITV1HD reality show has been released.

It is billed as 'one of the toughest ever adventure reality shows'

71 Degrees North will see tempers rise while the Norwegian temperature plummets. The series is of course presented by our very own Gethin Jones and the lovely Kate Thornton. It follows a group of 10 celebrities competing to be the first to make the journey to the North Cape, 71 degrees north of the Equator!

Each episode sees the celebrities face a specific challenge, the whole journey will involve mountain trekking, skiing, ice swimming, climbing ice walls, reindeer herding (coeee, Gethin, you've done that!) and crossing vast expanses of snowy landscape by dog sleigh.

As well as enjoying the stunning scenery and the physicial challenges, viewers will get to see how some of Britain's best-loved stars deal with the pressure. At the end of each show they come together to rate each other's performance. One by one the celebrities with the fewest votes must leave the group and return to Britain.

'In 71 Degrees North, only one celebrity can win and master the harshest of environments.'

This Butterfly Rocks!
The guestbook at www.strictlygethinjones.co.uk was visited by the 'Butterfly Auction'. This is what they say.....

'Gethin has used his creative talent to show support for Keech Hospice Care’s adult and children’s hospices. He has produced a beautiful, coloured butterfly sketch – a theme which was chosen to represent the beauty of all lives, however short they may be.

Gethin’s painting is part of ‘The Chrysalis Collection’, which will be auctioned off on eBay. The auction will run from 19th to 28th March and there will be a public exhibition of the star-studded artwork throughout the month at the Stockwood Discovery Centre in Luton, near the site of the hospices.'

Proceeds from the auction will help Keech Hospice Care continue to support adults and children with life-limiting illnesses and their families.

Police, Camera, Action!
The Daily Mail Online featured an interview (in a taxi) with Gethin (and this great picture). Amongst many other things it confirms the rumours we here at www.strictlygethinjones.co.uk had heard, that Gethin was to be the new presenter of the ITV show, Police, Camera, Action!

This is very good news, and means that we shall finally see the results of his mysterious filming trips. The article can be found here .
 
71 Degrees North
It has been reported that Gethin and Kate Thornton will host the new ITV1 spectacular prime-time reality show '71 Degrees North'. The programme will feature celebrities attempting hazardous physical challenges as they complete an extreme journey in Norway, all the way north to the Arctic Circle. The show has been nicknamed 'I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Brrrrrr ...' and is already a successful format in several countries.

We believe that they are way up there filming now, hope they remembered their thermal underwear! The show is expected to air in late spring.
 
Beer with Jonathan
Gethin took part in Welsh-language channel S4C's light-hearted chat show 'Jonathan'. He was surprised during the show by a visit from Camilla Dallerup, his partner in Strictly Come Dancing in 2007. She declared on Twitter that he still had the moves!

Psychic Sally
Gethin has had a celebrity 'reading' from psychic to the stars, Sally Morgan. Gethin is obviously something of a sceptic, though it did make him wonder how it was done. We apparently await the arrival of a new TV show with animals and him flying a plane!

Los Angeles
Gethin was accompanied by Angela Griffin on the red carpet at the Golden Globe Awards and also dropped into the Bafta Tea Party (above). He is pictured with Welsh Actor, Luke Evans, who plays Apollo in the eagerly awaited epic "Clash of the Titans". An interview with Colin Firth is also available in the video section on the Home Page.

Cirque du Soleil - the perils of being a celebrity....

Now, I am not one for gossip, but it was hardly any mystery that both Gethin and girlfriend Katherine (yes, La Jenkins) were both at the Cirque du Soleil show last night....


Gethin, however, was pictured with a mystery blonde(another lovely Miss Jenkins by the way). Katherine and Geth have both tweeted their enjoyment of the show. If the paparazzi want to see Gethin kissing a young lady, they need only get themselves tickets to the Yvonne Arnaud theatre's Panto.....

Gethin is on the radio - again!

This time, he is on BBC Radio Wales, today, 12.05 - 2pm. So, stay in the warm and listen to the dulcet tones of Mr Jones!

Gethin will be joined for music and chat by Joe Calzaghe, Gabby Logan, Ieuan Evans, and Rhod Gilbert to celebrate the new year. Promises to be a fun show!
